As aforementioned, the newly-announced stealth-vikings Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla was the highest-profile third-party Xbox Series X game dropped yesterday. The cinematic first look released earlier shows a departure from the game’s traditional rooftop-sneaking stealth-led gameplay, as lead character Eivor engages in pitched battles with English soldiers.

Other games announced, included Madden 21. Introduced by Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Madden 21 was introduced as very much a legacy title, paying homage to all the games that came before it.

More third-party games unveiled for the first time included DiRT 5 which is set for October to launch alongside both PS5 and Xbox Series X, to really showcase the power of the console while rumbling round tracks and launching yourself over other cars. The game contains the voice talents of video-game royalty, Troy Baker and Nolan North.

Yazuka: Like A Dragon was announced coming to Xbox Series X. In fact, that game will be an XSX launch title – one of the very few games confirmed to release on Day 1 thus far.

The Medium, a new psychological horror game from Bloober Team (Observer, Layers of Fear). As the name implies, the game casts players as a medium named Marianne, who must navigate both the real world and a twisted spirit world. The game definitely has some pretty strong Silent Hill vibes, which should only be bolstered by a soundtrack from original Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka.

Second Extinction is among the brand new games announced during Inside Xbox Series X ‘s gameplay episode. The game is an ‘intense’ first-person co-op shooter where up to three players take on mutated dinosaurs to reclaim Earth for humankind.

Another anticipated title on the Xbox Series X Gameplay events is Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. The trailer catches your attention right away, with the sight of an unfortunate family strung up around the Christmas tree, before providing some peeks at Bloodlines 2’s moody, neon-lit world, and plenty of shots of vampires generally being awesome and cool, all set to a swingin’ version of Danke Schoen.

Not announced or showcased were some games set to release in 2021, such as Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls VI and EA’s Battlefield 6. It’s worth noting a separate live event will be arranged for first-party games in July, so we’re unlikely to see any glimpses of Halo: Infinite, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 or other titles under Microsoft’s first-party banner. Till then hope you enjoyed all the gameplay footages revealed by Microsoft you’re free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
