Vampire Diaries Star Ian Somerhalder To Replace Tom Ellis As The Protagonist In Lucifer Season 6

If you’re a fan of the vampire diaries, then you’ll be thrilled to know that Damon Salvatore, could reinvent his devilish charms from Mystic Falls into a world where he’s the devil. According to rumors that surfaced online.

Recent reports claim that Ian Somerhalder will be replacing Tom Ellis As the protagonist in Lucifer season 6.

Over the past few months there’s been a bit of misunderstanding between Tom and Warner Bros. Multiple sources claim that re-negotiations between the current protagonist and Warner Bros ended with the actor rejecting the studio’s latest offer.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all possible productions leading to a potential season 6 of Lucifer has been put on hold.

While Tom Ellis already has a sixth season deal secured, depending on the circumstance, if he fails to honor that deal, it could put him in a breach of contract position.

Sources claim that the widely popular devil character is not happy with the payment and terms of his contract and extension for a sixth season and might likely quit the show.

In a recent interview with “Belfast Telegraph“, Tom Ellis made it clear that he was indeed very happy playing as the cunning, innovative character which is Lucifer, but admits there were some difficult aspects as well.

He also said that he missed his family and his three little girls so much, the fact that he had to spend months in LA shooting the series.

Fatherhood is a huge part of my life and the toughest thing about this job is being away from the girls. Although we keep in touch with Skype and by text and they come and visit during their school holidays, there’s no substitute for being with them day to day.

Well, you can’t blame the guy for wanting to be with his family.

And as far as Ian Somerhalder is concerned, who wouldn’t love to see him play a role very similar to Damon Salvatore. Well, we just have to wait and see if the rumors will turn out to be true.

For now, neither Ian nor Netflix have made an official statement yet, but after the disappointing first season of V-wars, Ian Somerhalder made it clear that he plans of working with Netflix in the future. Perhaps this could be part of that plan.

Surely those who follow Lucifer series would love nothing more than to hear their main star remain in the show, but then again, there’s a whole lot of fans out there that would love to see Ian Somerhalder put up that devilish character and charm once more.
