EA is currently working on a brand-new Battlefield 6 game made by DICE for the next-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles launching in 2021.
“Battlefield is progressing very, very well. We’re excited by what the team [at DICE] is doing. And again, in the context of a work-from-home environment,” he said. “They have been truly inspirational in how they’ve continued to develop great entertainment in the context of the Battlefield universe, and I’m excited for when next year comes.”
EA hasn’t shared any concrete details about the new Battlefield game, but it did previously tease that the title will be “targeting new innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms.”
EA said it is releasing this new Battlefield in 2021 not this year, when the new consoles release, to take advantage of their larger install base. A friendly reminder…
2018’s Battlefield V took place in World War II. 2016’s Battlefield 1 was set during World War I. The series hasn’t seen a modern-day release since 2015’s Battlefield Hardline.
Perhaps we will be seeing something different on the next-gen Battlefield title. We’ll keep you posted as soon as new info comes up, stay tuned!
